Frequently Asked Questions
If you cannot find the answers to your questions below, please reach out to us directly. You can fill in our contact form or even book a free 15 minute consultation with our clinical lead
How do I find the clinic in Sevenoaks?
We are located on Cobden Road, which is just of St Johns Hill and Quakers Hall Lane in Sevenoaks.
If you are driving up St Johns Hill, turn left at the Church into Quakers Hall Lane and then first right into Cobden Road. You will see our signs outside the clinic from there.
Is there parking available at the clinic?
Yes we are in a residential area with free parking on all surrounding roads including Cobden Road and Quakers Hall Lane. On a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday you can also drive straight in and park in our staff car park in front of the clinic
Do I need a referral to see an Osteopath?
As osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners it is not necessary to get a referral from your GP. The majority of patients seen in practice are self-referrals, meaning they find a local osteopath and book in directly with them.
How do I find an Osteopath near me?
Typically people will search for “osteopath near me” on Google or other Search engines This will provide a list of osteopathic clinics to select from and you can then check reviews written by patients. With a little bit of research you will be able to find the osteopath who is best suited for you. Keep in mind that all practitioners will have their own specialties and interests, so it’s important to find out more about each individual.
Another option is to search the GOsC register, which will list all registered and practising osteopaths, along with their contact information for you to book.
What should I wear to my appointment?
We always recommend that you wear whatever you will feel most comfortable in. It is often helpful to wear light flexible clothing that will allow you to move. If we are treating a specific body area, such as your knees, wearing shorts is a good idea.
Can Osteopathy treat migrains?
What happens during my first appointment?
Your first session will be 45 minutes and starts with a detailed assessment, discussing your symptoms, medical history, and goals. We’ll then start your personalised treatment plan and suggest exercises for you to continue at home, together with advice on next steps.
Will my health insurance cover Osteopathy?
Yes Osteopathy can often be covered with private health insurance however it is always important to check with your insurer first. We’re registered with all major UK health insurers, including Bupa, AXA, and Aviva. If you’re using insurance, check your policy for coverage details before booking.
