What is a Body Health Check MOT?

With busy lives and busy schedules, it is very easy to ignore a niggling ache or pain. We all have a tendency to not address problems until they become so severe that cannot be ignored, and in some cases result in debilitating pain or injury.

We have designed our Body Health Check MOT service for our pracititioner to go from head to toe to identify any areas of concern which you may not even have been aware of. This will allow us to provide you with a targeted treatment and exercise plan, together with general advice on lifestyle and proactive measures to look after health.

What is provided and how?

Our body health check MOT will consist of a full head to toe assessment with our practitioner. This will include:

  • Case History and Consultation – it is important for the practitioner to understand your history and any important context. This could be related to your health, lifestyle, activities and anything to help them understand you.
  • Postural Assessment – This involves the observation of static posture for alignment and visual and palpable assessment
  • Active Range of Movement – This is the range of motion you can currently achieve through use of your own muscular strength and no additional pressure
  • Passive Range of Movement – This is the range of motion for different parts of your body when the practitioner applies external pressure and can el
  • Strength Testing – For the practitioner to assess your ability and strength to perform specific movements
  • Specific Tests – For example taking blood pressure, neuro tests or respiratory tests which are all important for indentifying red flags

Who is this targeted at?

Everyone can benefit from an MOT. Whether you are a tradesman, regularly lifting and carrying heavy objects, or a desk based worker, sitting for prolonged periods of time and putting strain on your body through repetitive tasks such as typing. Finding potential problems early on can reduce the chances of injuries which can effect work productivity and general wellbeing.
